The conference is on Aberystwyth University's main campus, overlooking the town, as is the accommodation if you have booked it. Joining instructions, details of the accommodation, parking permits, and the latest version of the programme are all downloadable from the home page of this website.
Train is often the easiest way to get to Aberystwyth, with a pretty two hour journey from Shrewsbury. The Monday train getting in at 15:20 is in time to attend the Monday afternoon tutorials, and the conference finishes on Thursday in time to catch the 13:30 train to London (staying for Thursday afternoon tutorials will mean catching the 5:30pm train)). You can get on any train to London with an off-peak ticket, which makes trains to/from Aber quite reasonable.
- Off-peak train tickets from London (any train after 9:30am from Euston) cost £80 return.
- Off-peak from Birmingham International is £57.
For European visitors, or those changing planes in Amsterdam or Dubai, Birmingham International Airport is the easiest place to fly into, with a direct rail link to Aberystwyth. Manchester Airport is reasonable, but you will probably need to change trains twice. Train details and ticket purchase can be done here.
For USA visitors, you will probably need to travel via Heathrow. Train from London would be via London Euston, changing in Birmingham. Drive from Heathrow takes 4.5 hours and I wouldn't do it the same day I arrived in Heathrow on an overnight flight.
